I'm lucky enough to have been able to follow wee Tilly's progress from birth, both as a family photographer and as her proud Godmother. She's the daughter of a good friend of mine. On this occasion I had the privilege of taking some portraits at her home, as requested by her mum.
We started out with some laid back photos in the family conservatory. This is one of the central hubs of their home and this is where Tilly likes to play with her dolls house.
We then went into the living room for Tilly to put on some shoes so that we could go outside. There was also time for a quick snack of Smarties - one of Tilly's favourites.
Time for a few shots outside. Tilly played with a Peppa Pig balloon and she played on the slide. Family portraits, especially of young children, needn't be a big deal to have taken. They also don't have to be posed and overly-stuffy if that isn't the style you are looking for.
This final shot is a bit of a cheat and was taken on a different day. This is Tilly in her PJs giving me her 'camera pose'. Her mum tells me when asked to pose she always crosses her arms like this for the camera. How cute. And I also feel quite proud that I managed to get most of my photos without the 'pose'.
I am a Glasgow-based family photographer and I am a mobile photographer - so I come to you to take the photos. I shoot maternity, baby and family photography sessions. Sessions can range from a more styled look to a 'lifestyle' session, showing off home and hearth.
