"Nope!" Vintage Home Family Photo Shoot, Lenzie
I am involved with a wonderful project organised by Fiona Poliri who is a vintage make-up artist and hair-stylist from Lenzie. She aims to promote breastfeeding and appointed me to take family photographs of breastfeeding women with vintage styling. The breastfeeding photos are exclusively for Fiona’s use at the moment, but in my blog I usually share the other photos that are taken during a session. This session was a little different however. This little girl had decided that the time was right to self-wean. As you will see from the photos self-weaning is a very real phenomena. It's nice to know that nature can take care of a process that mothers may worry about.
The wee yin here got into the swing of the photo shoot experience saying to her Mum 'but I just want to have so much fun Mummy'. My eternal family photographer's friend - bubbles - played a key role in keeping this wee one in front of the lens as she had fun playing during the session.
I am a big fan of natural photos and photos that I feel capture the spirit of a person. This little girl was full of life and joy and I hope that my photos reflect this.
A quick change of venue and the addition of Fiona's cat added different details to the pictures. This older kitten was drawn to the fun and followed the group around as we moved rooms, wanting to also play with the bubbles and this little girl.
This little girl's dress is lovely and bright and looks good in the photos alongside her Mum's bright top and shoes. Fiona's make-up and hair also look fab as usual.
Running out of juice this wee girl decided it was time to cuddle up with her Mummy. However she was most definitely not interested in breastfeeding. You can lead a horse to water.... It didn't matter though as this wee one has helped to show that the final stage of breastfeeding - self weaning - is most definitely a real phenomenon and a natural part of the process.
I am a Glasgow-based family photographer and I am a photographer who will come to your own home to take photos. This allows you to show off home and hearth if you wish, or I can provide backdrops instead. I shoot maternity, baby and family photography sessions, as well as performance photography. If you are interested in finding out more about booking a session please either email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or contact me through this website.
