First Birthday, First Steps in Edinburgh....
I was fortunate enough to be asked to take some family photography in Edinburgh. Long ago were the days of little Ivy learning to roll and shuffle around the floor. Now, just having had her first birthday she is officially a 'toddler'. Sitting up was mastered way before now. Pulling off her own socks has become a way of life. Books are no longer something that only Mummy and Daddy read and she likes looking through them herself - especially if they are about penguins.
Ivy can stand up by herself, but if Mum can help - it's still appreciated.
Objects around the house are pretty useful too to give yourself some stability as you stand up. The coach is just the right height to lean on. The coach is especially useful, when it gives you a vantage point of the cat - who tolerates her, give or take.
Ivy was teething when we met up - one sure sign? Chewing! Teething actually began what feels like an eternity ago. But chewing on her fist is still super fun.
Ready, steady, go! So okay - maybe I didn't witness her very first steps. But I was there when she really started walking a lot. She was walking more than she had ever walked before. Tiny steps, but giant ones in the life of little lovely Ivy.
